From the founder
Before you trust me with something as important as your business online, you should know what it cost me to figure this out.
I didn't build LocalGrowth+ because I'm a tech person. I built it because every other option failed me. This is that story.
“I paid $10,000 for a website with a broken shopping cart — and walked away with zero customers.”
It was 2009. I had a brand new company and I was genuinely excited. I did what everyone told me to do — I hired professionals. Through an Adobe reseller I found a three-person team. They quoted me ten thousand dollars upfront, plus fifty dollars a month, to build a three-page website.
I was excited. I said yes.
Three months later — three months — the site went live. The product displays were broken. The shopping cart never worked. And after a full year online, with real money spent and real time invested, we had not one paying customer.
I shut it down. I wrote it off. I called it a complete loss and tried to move on.
But it didn't leave me. That failure started an obsession that lasted the better part of a decade.
I started learning how to build websites myself. I tried WordPress first, like most people do. Then Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy, HostGator, and every free builder in between. Each one promising it would finally be the answer.
Agency through Adobe reseller (2009)
$10,000 upfront · $50/month
Three-person team. Three months. A shopping cart that never worked. Not one paying customer in a full year.
WordPress
"Free" — until it isn't
Built dozens of sites over the years. Always the same: plugin hell, hidden costs, and constant maintenance. Biggest result: 70 members in a members-only site. Years of work.
Wix & Squarespace
Monthly subscriptions
Beautiful templates. Genuinely beautiful. But beautiful doesn't pay the bills. About one visitor a month. No growth. No traction.
GoDaddy, HostGator & the rest
Cheap hosting + add-ons that add up
Every time I tried to grow, I hit a wall. Technical hurdles that turned into a second full-time job. I wasn't building a business anymore — I was maintaining a server.
WordPress was the longest fight. Some people get comfortable with it — I never did. It was never upfront about its costs. You need a plugin for this, a theme update for that, a developer when something breaks. I spent more time maintaining WordPress than actually running my business. And after years of it, the biggest thing I ever built was seventy members in a members-only site.Seventy. That wasn't going to pay the bills.
Wix and Squarespace at least had beautiful designs. Genuinely beautiful. But every time I launched something, I'd get maybe one visitor a month and no idea why. No one to call. No help that actually helped. Whether it was GoDaddy or HostGator or whatever else I tried — I could not make it grow.
“I finally realized: the problem wasn't me. The industry is designed to keep you paying — not to help you get customers.”
That was the moment everything shifted. After years of blaming myself for not being technical enough, not being patient enough, not trying hard enough — I looked at these tools clearly for the first time. None of them were built to help you grow. They were built to keep you subscribed.
WordPress profits from complexity. Wix and Squarespace profit from you staying at the template level. GoDaddy profits from the add-ons you need to make things actually work. The whole industry is built around your frustration — not your success.
That is why I made LocalGrowth+.
LocalGrowth+ exists for the person who is burned out on the old methods. The one who spent money they didn't have, learned things they didn't want to learn, and still ended up with a website nobody visited. That was me. And if you found this page, there's a good chance that was you too.
I built it on the most advanced technology available — Next.js, React, Tailwind CSS — the same stack powering the biggest companies on the internet. Not because I want to impress you with names, but because you deserve tools that are actually fast, secure, and built for how people use the web today. Not a WordPress plugin stack from 2008. Not a drag-and-drop builder that caps out at beautiful but useless.
But the technology is the foundation, not the point. The point is what happens when you actually use it. An AI builds your site from a conversation — no templates to wrestle with, no designer to pay. You launch on your own domain. You control everything. And when you're ready to find more customers, the growth engine is already there.
From your first business card to a full e-commerce site backed by a real community — that's the ladder I built. Because I needed every rung of it myself.
Not promises. Specific things. The exact problems I hit.
